This was our first experience of buying a boat, so we really didn’t know what to expect. But Alex and the team at Great Haywood explained everything and made it really easy for us. From the initial viewing (for which Alex came in specially on her day off) to final handover of our narrowboat, the entire process went without a hitch. With regular phone calls, simple paperwork and a level of honesty that quite frankly took us by surprise (having previously dealt with estate agents), the entire process was a pleasure. Alex even introduced us to a marina, surveyor and boatyard, ensuring we were all set up and ready to set sail as soon as the purchase was complete.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the sales team. They provided a friendly, efficient service, keeping us up to date even though we live ‘abroad’ and our boat was sold only 2 weeks after having been put up for sale.

I’d been looking for a boat for nearly a year and Mandy will tell you, I’d got to the point where I didn’t think I’d find one I liked and I sounded desperate. I’d looked at loads of boats that were damp, neglected and if they were ok they seemed massively over priced. Mandy was the first broker I’d spoken to who actually asked me what I was looking for and came back to me with something that ended up being perfect.
The level of service and support from Mandy has been fantastic. Without a doubt I knew she had my best interests at heart and that she genuinely cared about how this process went for me. I also admired how she balanced my needs with the seller’s needs.
The buying process at Great Haywood is really clear and each step was explained to me by Mandy which I really appreciated as Duke is my first boat. There was help every step of the way and both my Dad and I felt really welcome when we visited. Mandy has joked we should put each other on the friends and family phone list as we spoke so much. I think Mandy will miss me!!
For me buying my first boat was an emotional rollercoaster. I think that the way Great Haywood approaches this is the best possible way for both the buyer and the seller. I’m so pleased that I picked up the phone and called Great Haywood.
I will tell anyone who is buying or selling a narrowboat to contact you and if I’m up this way again I will definitely pop in to say hello. Couldn’t speak more highly of you! Thank you so much once again.

Just a quick note to thank you for all your support in our purchase of Miss Molly. You are the perfect example of what good customer service should be.

We just wanted to thank Leeza for her excellent, friendly and efficient service. We enjoyed coming to the beautiful marina at Great Haywood on Saturday, 3rd December, to take ownership of our lovely boat, Hakuna Matata, and it was great to meet Leeza after our dealings over the phone. She provides old-fashioned service with a very modern handshake and smile. This is how it should be done. Thanks very much.

Just wanted to drop you a line to thank for the fantastic job you did in helping me find and buy a narrowboat. I don’t think you could have done a better job and I am really pleased with the whole process. Thank you so much.

There are boat brokers and narrow boat brokers. Luckily we chose the latter. It was well worth the journey moving our boat from Tewkesbury to Wigram’s Turn for sale. Please pass on our thanks to Liam and the team for the professional and efficient service we received during the process of selling our Sea Otter, Bumble B. We were pleased with the photographic presentation, and the courtesy shown to us whenever we visited the site. A buyer was found in a relatively short time and once sold, funds were in our account within 5 days as promised. We have recommended your services to friends who are considering selling their narrowboats.
